Experimenting with Cubase

I made a song on Cubase as an experiment. I added a vinyl crackling sound and a low pitched trumpet set at C0 on Midi. I then added a synthesizer to it in which changed and added some drums too. I used this to experiment with the EQ settings on Cubase to see what sounds I could make. I was inspired by Dunkelheit by Burzum, a black metal song which uses synth ambience for a lo-fi sound. I am a big fan of horror movie and game soundtracks too, I love music which incorporates horror elements into the music such as Black Sabbath's debut and Scream Bloody Gore by Death. For an experimental song I can say I'm quite proud of this since Cubase isn't really a strong point in my skillset. I plan on using Cubase more for my own projects as backing tracks for things like my bass and guitar since I don't own a synth or a drum kit.  Here is the link to the track:

College Band Rehearsal 22/03/22

Today was one of the best rehearsal sessions I've had in weeks. The band has decided to go with Paranoid instead of Killing in the Name as it will be a better song to do. Our Respect rehearsal went really well, just need to do a piano solo, Highway to Hell went well and so did Paranoid. Our morals have been higher this session after starting it with a bit of a rocky start.

College Band Rehearsal 15/03/22

This week for rehearsal we have decided a set list for the upcoming gig. The Chain - Fleetwood Mac, an original song and Killing in the Name - Fleetwood Mac. This setlist will be in drop D tuning. Leon made the riff for our original song and we all added onto it. It's quite a groovy but heavy riff. The lyrics still need to be written for this song and the guitar solo needs to be finished but I feel that our rehearsal session for this went very well for coming up with something on the spot. The band has not done much rehearsing this week however.

Respect - Arethra Franklin

In this weeks practice lessons we played Respect by Arethra Franklin. This was a very fun bassline to play as it was quite funky and groovy. Our rehearsals have went well and our teacher Barrie played a piano solo during the song. The other bandmates also rehearsed Don't Stop Me Now by Queen however I was not taught that song so I could not play it.
